9/18/1995 Brendan Shanahan is named team captain (9th NHL, 10th Franchise) before ever playing a game for the Whalers. Adam Burt, Andrew Cassels, and Glen Wesley will remain assistant captains. 
10/7/1995 Brendan Shanahan plays his 1st Whalers game recording his 1st point (an assist) vs the Rangers. 
11/4/1995 Brendan Shanahan scores his 1st two Whalers goals vs Ottawa. 
12/15/1995 Brendan Shanahan scores his 250th NHL goal (adding another goal and an assist) vs Colorado. 
1/3/1996 Brendan Shanahan is selected as the starting left wing in the 1996 All-Star game in Boston with 296,043 fan votes. He is the 2nd Whalers player (Kevin Dineen) to be voted as a starter in the game. 
1/20/1996 Brendan Shanahan represents the Whalers scoring a goal in the 1996 NHL All-Star game in Boston.
